Recycled metals
Silver and gold are Pandora’s most widely used precious metals - and central to our circularity ambitions. All Pandora jewellery is crafted with 100% recycled silver and gold.
A MAJOR MILESTONE
Pandora reached 100% recycled silver and gold one year ahead of its 2025 target - a major milestone made possible by clear governance, strong supplier partnerships and a company‑wide commitment to circularity.
Switching from mined to recycled metals delivers significant environmental benefits. In this case, using recycled silver and gold avoids around 58,000 tonnes of CO₂e annually - equivalent to the electricity use of 11,000 homes - representing a dramatic reduction compared to newly mined metals.
STRONG COLLABORATION MADE IT POSSIBLE
Achieving this transition required extensive internal and external engagement. Over several years, Pandora defined the right operating model, engaged suppliers across the network, and audited more than 40 sites to confirm readiness, traceability and reliable access to recycled metals. Strategic supplier selection, including refiner partnerships and pooling strategies, helped with management of costs.
Strong internal commitment and collaboration was key to the process. More than 100 employees across sourcing, operations, sustainability, compliance and product teams contributed to the shift — underscoring the importance of cross‑functional ownership in delivering large‑scale operational changes.
