Lab-grown Diamonds

Pandora's lab-grown diamonds are created using advanced technology. Identical to mined diamonds in every way, they offer exceptional quality, a known origin and a significantly lower environmental footprint.

Since August 2022, all Pandora Lab-Grown Diamonds have been grown, cut and polished using only renewable electricity and set in jewellery crafted from 100% recycled silver and gold.

Recreating the brilliance of nature, above ground

Lab-grown diamonds are crafted above ground with cutting-edge innovation to still bring the brilliance of nature. Each stone is optically, chemically, thermally and physically identical to a mined diamond, with a known origin and exceptional quality. They are individually grown and finished to exacting standards with remarkable cut, colour and clarity - delivering the same sparkle and strength as a natural diamond but without the environmental impact of traditional mining.

What is a lab-grown diamond?

A lab-grown diamond is a diamond made from pure carbon, formed under conditions that replicate the natural diamond-growing process. Grown in a laboratory rather than mined from the earth, it shares the same physical properties, durability and brilliance as a mined diamond - just created above ground.

Making a lab-grown diamond

From a tiny diamond seed to a finished stone, each lab-grown diamond follows a precise, carefully monitored journey powered by innovation and renewable energy. Using Chemical Vapor Deposition (CVD) technology, a rough diamond is grown in a laboratory and then cut and polished using the same techniques as mined diamonds. The result is a diamond that is identical in structure and appearance - just created above ground, with a known origin.

Powered by renewable electricity, crafted from recycled metals

Pandora's Lab-Grown diamonds are grown, cut and polished using 100% renewable electricity. They are set in jewellery crafted with 100% recycled silver and gold (1) - helping to significantly reduce the carbon footprint of our collections while maintaining the highest quality standards.

As a result, a finished white Pandora Lab-Grown Diamond has roughly 9.17 kg of carbon emissions per cut and polished carat. This means its carbon footprint is around 95% lower than that of a mined diamond of the same size.

For further context, the carbon footprint of one of our (Infinite) flagship products, a gold ring with a 1 carat diamond, is just 11.4 kg, which is similar to a pair of jeans.

(1) Since August 2022, all Pandora Lab-Grown Diamonds have been grown, cut and polished using only renewable electricity and set in jewellery crafted from 100% recycled silver and gold. Select Pandora Infinite pieces crafted prior to this date were set with lab-grown diamonds grown using more than 60% renewable electricity on average and set in a mix of recycled and non-recycled silver and gold. Remaining inventory of these pieces are still available at certain locations.
